soon. Will need more than last year for newsletter as costs have risen.

which no-one has updated for a long time. Sylvia has agreed to look at it
and become webmaster. Madeleine will try to find out how to access the
site to change it

the file # and person in charge of this. Madeleine will follow up.

attention to several good ones being shown over the next few weeks – see
NLEN eupdate for details.
- Trail Mapping Project: Rodlophe has got some
more funding to hire a student to complete this. Helen and Sylvia will
meet with her on Tjursday to go over what needs to be done. Sylvia offers
her and Myra
to walk some of the trails to check the descriptions. Does anyone else
have time to do this?
- Jones Pond trail Status? Ralph says no progress,
but Mayor Codner has written to Crown
Land department for
advice. Terry suggests an English style stile across the trail at the
barrier could help solve problem.
- Letter to NEAT offering congrats to new and
returning councilors – decided not to as in poor taste for some.
- Status of Ground water study: clarified that 2
studies are underway – a checking of some wells and also a study of the
river from Western Island Pond has been proposed. There was much
discussion over water – both drinking and waste with the following
suggestions to discuss more:
larger lots for properties with well and septic to
minimize contamination of wells.
New town water supplies from local ponds (council
looking into this)
A committee of council and TETC members to look at
various options of a sewage treatment plant
- Madeleine
suggested we draw up a motion to council that will add stricter guidelines
for development of subdivisions. These might include
Incorporating
existing trails into the plan’
Creating
more green zones,
Insisting
on ‘conservation subdivisions.
